In this short step-by-step guide, I will show you how to stake and store your EOS safely and use them effectively by delegating the voting rights to the trusted EOS Support Proxy. For those of you who already know how proxying works and are just looking for the name of EOS Support's proxy, please check the banner above.
Prerequisites:
EOS Account (Learn here how to create your first EOS Account)
EOS Wallet with imported EOS Account (Learn here how to create your first EOS wallet)
In Step 4, we use the Anchor Wallet Desktop version
In Step 5, we use the Mobile Wallet (Tokenpocket/Wombat/Anchor and more)
EOS Tokens to lend (stake) to REX (Learn about REX)
Let's get started:
In order to delegate your EOS voting rights to a proxy, they need to be staked. In this example, we stake/lend them to REX (Resource Exchange). After staking to REX we delegate the voting power to a rewards proxy to get paid an additional reward on top of REX given out by the Proxy.
Make sure your EOS Account is powered up. Get a free power up here.
You can use the new simple interface to stake (lend to REX):
https://stake.eosnetwork.com/ (If you staked via this webpage, skip step 1-3 and continue with step 4 or 5)
Screenshot: stake.eosnetwork.com on July 9th
Important Note: If you don't want the extra security described in step 3 and you prefer to have your EOS liquid, you can directly unstake the EOS again after staking. This will trigger the REX "move out of savings" function in the background. After 21 days your EOS moved out of the savings account but will still be in REX. You will continue to get rewards until your position is sold. This will happen when you claim manually or if you do any REX action after the 21 days (stake more, for example).
Step 1
Please navigate to the REX section of the block explorer eosauthority.com/rex?network=eos and login with your EOS Account (look for the red arrow(s) throughout this article).
Step 2
Scroll down to Lend to REX and enter the Amount of EOS, you want to lend (stake) to REX. When the desired amount is set, click on Lend to Rex and sign the transaction with your EOS Wallet.
Step 3 (this is now done automatically by the REX system)
This step was optional before July 8th. 2024, but now the system does this automatically to enhance security by introducing a 21-day time delay before making REX funds liquid again - they call it "Stake my REX (Savings)". So REX always moves your lent EOS directly into savings from July 8th, 2024.
Why is moving the funds to savings a good thing?
If, in the unfortunate event, your Active Permission's Private Key gets compromised and someone attempts to steal your EOS, you'll have a 21-day window to take action (using your Owner Permission) and secure your funds.

Step 4 or 5 - Select a proxy to receive additional 4.5% APR
Now you are ready to set your Proxy. Remember: you are not giving away your tokens, only delegating the token's voting rights.
Step 4 - Vote with Anchor Desktop Wallet
Open your Anchor Wallet (Desktop version) and navigate to:
Governance
Proxies
Search for eossprt.spt
Click on the gray button and subsequently the green Confirm button.
Step 5 - Vote with mobile (Tockenpocket/Wombat/Anchor Wallet and more)
Step 5.1
On your mobile device, open your browser and go to eosauthority.com. Log in with your wallet by tapping Please add an account.
Step 5.2
Select the mobile wallet you’d like to use; for this tutorial, we’ll use Anchor Mobile Wallet on iOS.
Step 5.3
Confirm your selection by tapping Add accounts and completing the process within your wallet.
Step 5.4
Now that you are logged in, before voting for the EOS Support Proxy, your EOS tokens must be staked to REX. In the main menu, select REX.
Step 5.5
Lend your EOS to REX by entering a specific amount or choosing a percentage of your account balance. Confirm by tapping Lend to REX and sign the transaction with your wallet.
Step 5.6
On the same page, scroll down and move all your REX to the savings account by tapping Stake my REX (Savings). Confirm by signing with your wallet. Skip this step if your EOS tokens are already in REX Savings.
Step 5.7
Now, you’re ready to choose the EOS Support Proxy, eossprt.spt.
In EOS Authority, go to the main menu and select Vote.
Step 5.8
Tap Proxies, enter eossprt.spt in the search field, and tap the icon to the left of the EOS Support Proxy entry in the list. Sign the transaction with your mobile wallet to confirm your selection.
Step 5.9
Choose between two transaction options. For this tutorial, we’ll use the free transaction offered by EOS Authority.
Sign the transaction in your mobile wallet to confirm proxying your votes to the EOS Support Proxy.
Congratulations!
You are now officially proxying your votes to the EOS Support Proxy eossprt.spt earning 4.5% APR Proxy Rewards + additional reward from REX (approx. 28.54% APY, measured on November 11, 2024).
EOS Staking Rewards (REX) will compound under "Total REX". Proxy Rewards will compound under "CPU Staked" and can be moved regularly into REX to maximize the compounding effect with REX.
When moving the CPU daily to REX, the measured double compounding effect results in an approximate APY of 34.5% (measured on November 11, 2024).
