Pomelo Season 4 Analysis: Matching Pool Distribution is ready. Outside of math wizards, few people get excited about detailed statistical reports. Maybe the community’s enthusiasm over the report is part of the magic of quadratic funding.

A Few Statistics

Included in the analysis are the top 10 grants by matching allocation and a bunch of statistics and charts.

Community-funded projects receive their portion of Pomelo’s matching pool based on the end-of-season analysis. Projects found breaking the rules are penalized or disqualified.

In total, 14 grants were either disqualified or had their matching funds reduced. Season 4 penalties amounted to nearly $100,000. That’s down from the more than $150,000 reallocated last season. Penalized funds go to fair players.

Ensuring Fair Play

Season 4 continued finding new ways to promote fair play. The community also aided with independent monitoring. Overall, this season saw fewer attempts to cheat.

Note that season 5 will employ new rules regarding self-donation. Pomelo surveyed the community to help finalize a new standard. Expect a follow-up article explaining the new rule before next season.

About Claiming Funds

Pomelo calculates USD to EOS prices just before the end of the appeal period. An email notification with instructions on completing KYC (for claiming) will be sent to qualified grant owners.
