Greymass, one of the top developers in the EOS Ecosystem and the company behind the reputable Anchor Wallet, created a way to claim Free EOS Accounts for Newcomers.
Receiving your first EOS Account with a claim code is relatively easy. You will learn how to do that by reading this guide.
1. By clicking the provided link, you get to the following page:
2. Please select Download Anchor if you did not yet download the application and select your operating system. As soon as the application is downloaded on your device and installed, you can come back to this browser window and click on Launch Anchor on this device.
3. All you have to do now is follow the instructions to create your new EOS Account. You will need to set a password (or use Biometrics on phones) and choose an account name with 9 characters (small letters and numbers from 1-5. It will end with .gm because it is a free account sponsored by Greymass.)
Examples: helloyou.gm | freenft.gm | bonusnft.gm
select Random name if you want a random name for your account
4. Choose your name and click on Next. Now follow the instructions of the Account Creator.
5. It is crucial to save your OWNER KEY CERTIFICATE and remember your ENCRYPTION KEY consisting of 6 words.
If you have any questions during the account creation don't hesitate to click the blue chat icon on the lower-right corner of the website eossupport.io to get in contact with EOS Support customer service. We are happy to help!
Important: The best way to store the Owner Key Certificate is offline. Print out the document and do not keep digital copies. In case you want to keep a digital copy, use an encryption tool to encrypt the file and keep it on an external USB drive which can be encrypted as well.
6. After you've created your Account, it is automatically imported to your Anchor Wallet and can be used. Congratulations!
However, before you use this Account for transactions, you should powerup your EOS Account to sign transactions. On the eospowerup.io website, enter your EOS Account under the advertisement and click POWERUP:
Powerup is free and can be done twice every 24 hours. Why powerup? We explain that here.
