Imposer Account

The account displayed above (named: "krakunkraken") is pretending to be the account (named: "krakenkraken") wich can be seen below:

Official Kraken.com EOS Account

Their strategy is to send a small amount of $EOS to the EOS accounts they are targeting, pretending to be the account of the Kraken.com exchange wich uses the account https://bloks.io/account/krakenkraken to receive $EOS that are being send to them.

Kraken.com also requires you to include a memo that includes a personal identification number.

As you can see in the screenshots above, the scammers know this and also use a number in the memo of the transaction that shows up in your account history, in order to trick users to include a memo in the transaction.

They do this because wallets like Anchor Wallet give a warning if somebody tries to send funds to an exchange without including a memo.

When transferring funds to an account, please be extremely careful. Provide the right account name and personal identification number, and double-check that the account name was written correctly.
