EOS Respect uses blockchain to elect delegates and provide accountability for funded projects. EOS Respect elections occur monthly. Membership and project affiliation processes undergo intent scrutiny. After four elections, EOS Respect demonstrates profound potential.
About EOS Respect Delegation
EOS Respect delegates commit to identifying the best community projects. The community holds delegates to fulfill the promises they make that extend beyond their own projects. The result is improved accountability and trust.
By donating through Pomelo, delegate accounts cannot vote for their own project. They instead choose to leverage the magic of quadratic funding to provide greater opportunities for the community as a whole. In return, the community has historically supported those delegates who have their own public goods project.
EOS Respect After Four Elections
Active members: 41
Treasury: 20,966.9953 EOS
# of elections: 4
Total delegates elected: 19
Verified promises kept: 9
Verification in progress: 8
Unspent funds: 2
Affiliate projects: 23
The EOS Respect community has grown exponentially, with 41 active members and a treasury of nearly 21K EOS. After four elections, 19 elected delegates and 23 affiliate projects joined. Below you can see the current term delegates. View information about each on the EOS Respect website.
Delegates can choose however many projects they wish to fund with their treasury allocation. Kept promises are judged in their entirety and not by individual affiliate fulfillment. Unspent funds await the next Pomelo round.
Auditing EOS-based Projects
EOS Respect delegates can leverage Pomelo. Benefits to donating through the platform include leveraging matching funds and a proven audit system. Pomelo rounds last about three months while EOS Respect elections occur monthly. Statistics presented here take both factors into account. For example, delegates may wish to hold funding for a month to increase their contribution for a Pomelo round.
EOS Respect conducts its own independent audit. Each delegate both funds affiliated projects and follows up with project owners.
Growing Interest in EOS Respect
There’s been substantial growth in EOS Respect allocated funding. Since the last election, 20+ newly funded (completed) projects and 34+ others value the innovative accountability process. Note that ‘open’ projects displayed in the chart refer to those in connection with ongoing investigation.
Following election #3, just 4 projects were funded and audited. Of course, the aforementioned withholding of funds to coincide with Pomelo’s schedule must be factored in. Also, note that the first election proceeded without a list of affiliated projects, as well as maintained a very modest budget.
The EOS Respect community is among the most recently successful endeavors on the network. From just a few projects funded by election #3, EOS Respect now has 24 closed and 45 open projects. Leveraging what the Pomelo platform has to offer, as well as enthusiastic new members help fuel growth.
OUTLOOK
EOS Respect election #5 happened on December 27. The relatively small, closely networked community appears ready to take another leap. Together with EOS Support, EOS Respect works to help add depth and value to the EOS Network.
