If you’re looking for help getting started on EOS, visit EOS Support Part 1: The Mainnet’s Concierge Service. The information that follows here in Part 2 advances ideas and discusses in-development initiatives. Taken together, the two articles outline the contents of EOS Support’s Semi-annual Report, as well as what to expect.

The first article examined the key aspects that make EOS Support a valued asset for the mainnet as a concierge service. Part 2 explores upcoming work, roadmap, future outlook, and impact projects. The greatest impact on the future of the EOS mainnet is undoubtedly the Antelope Leap consensus upgrade. Note that a consensus upgrade has similar impacts to that of a hard fork.

Summary of Part 1

Part 1 of this series examined the information and impact of the recently released EOS Support Semi-annual Report. It covered:

  • the Learning Center

  • responding to scams

  • ticket system

  • advanced services

  • EOS Support Squad

  • community outreach

Much of Part 1’s content centers around existing services. As a whole, EOS Support services continue to develop, broaden, and innovate. Part 2 takes a closer look at how EOS Support prepares for operating on Leap 3.1, the third generation of EOSIO technology.

How EOS Support Already Stands Apart

EOS Support began with the vision of easing the blockchain learning curve to help maximize the potential and growth of EOS. The mainnet’s concierge service already helps the community understand how the new version of EOS Antelope Leap works. Furthermore, EOS Support identifies key statistics for developers to draw from.

Supporting the Antelope Leap v3.1 Consensus Upgrade

The impact the Leap 3.1 consensus upgrade will have on the mainnet cannot be overstated. EOS Support’s founder maintains a close relationship with the Antelope and Leap development team. Through customer relationships and actions (e.g. surveys) EOS Support aids in the development process. For example, EOS Support discovered that 504 of 883 dApps/DEX/CEX were offline. EOS Support even uncovered 13 projects found to be double entries and one as an outright scam.

Leap will bring more changes to EOS than any other upgrade in its history. EOS Support made the transition easier for developers, node operators, dapp providers and users alike. Key to providing this service is staying in the know by connecting with the development team during weekly meetings, covered also in EOS Supports News section. It’s often here where solutions find common ground and actions initiate.

Critical Surveys

Independent surveys are another way EOS Support helps the ecosystem. A recent DUNE (Docker Utility for Node Execution) survey was included in the semi-annual report. DUNE is a long awaited rework and innovation that makes life easier for prospective developers. It answers criticisms about the challenges of developing on EOS. The DUNE survey spans 9 languages to coordinate the concerns of a multifaceted developer community.

Results of the DUNE Survey

33 developers responded to the survey. An overwhelming majority actively engage in smart contract development. As one might expect, developers are split between the choice of platform, with Windows getting a slight edge. Docker, the development environment for which DUNE is named ranked second behind the ‘Purely Native’ category. Improving EOS-Docker development may significantly alter the development paradigm on EOS. Overwhelming support for a ‘well-documented Docker image’ attests to such an outcome.

EOS Support Roadmap

Independent projects and members willing to work together offer decisive advantages over conventionally organized structures. EOS Support also demonstrates its commitment to team building through regularly scheduled meetings.

The roadmap allows for uninhibited growth-by-design existing as an interactive platform. Agents will be able to independently navigate and add/edit aspects of the roadmap they’ve been working on. Below is a list of actively updated dApps key to the current roadmap:

  • EOS Respect

  • The Giveaway Show

  • EOS Network DAO platform

  • Gamification of EOS Support

Details of each dApp are available in the Semi-annual Report.

Concluding Remarks

Current innovation on EOS far exceeds the norm within the blockchain space. Blockchain as a whole is characteristic of rapid innovation. Keeping up with modest innovation can be challenging. Providing full concierge services for the third generation of the EOS blockchain is almost unimaginable.

The processes employed by EOS Support are themselves innovative in concept. Whether it be an interactive roadmap, dynamic agent network, or gamified ecosystem, EOS Support is ready to help lead the EOS network into a new era.
