Many applications use zoom to help facilitate their online meetings. In this tutorial, we will go over some features of zoom.
Disable All Participants Activities
When you have a meeting with many participants, it could be challenging to manage wrong behaviors. In these cases, it's helpful to have stricter control over the activities that participants could perform.
You have to be the host or co-host of the meeting to see these options. With these options, the host or co-host can disable all the participants' activities by going to Security > Suspend Participant Activities.
You will be asked for confirmation and if you want to report some users to Zoom's team. Just uncheck the Report to Zoom if you don't want to report any participant, and click Suspend Participant Activities.
Allow others to Share Screen
A Host, can give others access to share their screen.
Go to Security > Share Screen, so others can Share:
Waiting Room
This is a default option, useful when you want to avoid random people from interrupting your meeting, or prevent others with a link from connecting to your zoom directly. The waiting room feature allows for an admin to filter who can be admitted into the zoom room.
When you are not sure who is in the waiting room, you can confirm who the participant in the waiting room is via chat.
Lock Meeting
If all of your participants are in the zoom call already or others are late, and you don't want them to interrupt your meeting, you can Lock the Meeting in the Security tab. Participants will see the screen below if this feature is activated.
Control Audio and Video from Others
To prevent others from interrupting via video or audio during your presentation, you can prevent participants from unmuting or starting their video.
Go to Security and disallow participants to Unmute themselves or start their video by unchecking corresponding fields.
